Kansas Family Values - The family is under attack in Kansas. Although the Defense of Marriage Act was passed, the family is given lip service. We need a government that values the family in all parts of our society.

Second Amendment -- Law-abiding citizens in Kansas should be trusted with the exercise of their right to carry concealed weapons. No qualified Kansan should have to be in fear because he or she is denied the legal ability to be armed when they believe they need to be. Our government should secure our rights against criminals and aid us in our own defense. This means removing the harsh punishments allowed for carrying concealed where posted for no carry. This should be handled just like inappropriate dress - if the owner has a problem the person carrying must leave or face trespass changes. I believe that there will be fewer posted establishments. Retire police officers should have an uncontested right to concealed carry anywhere. I have been given an "A" rating by the NRA and I am a lifetime member and gun owner.

Taxes - Individual Kansans and small businesses are over taxed in Kansas. The automatic increases in the personal property tax due to valuation increaes are putting a burden on the average Kansan. I pledge to vote against tax increases which hurt everyone, especially our seniors.
